Research Assistant

The Research Assistant position is an entry-level music business opportunity. The nature of this position requires an ability to self-motivate and engage in critical thinking while focusing on small details and data entry tasks. As a Research Assistant, you will:

  • Research music copyright ownership using information available through the internet, direct sources, and other reference tools
  • Prepare and enter updates to Songdex, the largest independent source of music copyright information in the world
  • Match sound recordings to musical works
  • May include other tasks related to music database maintenance and research, such as researching new releases or processing music cue sheets

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in and/or willingness to learn the business side of the music industry
  • Familiarity with various musical artists, genres, and styles required. Understanding of music publishing a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with data entry and/or research
  • Must be technologically savvy, with strong typing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google apps
  • Meticulous attention to detail required
  • Must be able to identify, evaluate, and communicate issues
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • - Salary: $17.28 per hour
